Override rule dates in catch-up rules

July 16th, 2017 (Revision 1), print this page

We’ve added the ability to override put-up and take-down dates (or both!) for catch-up schedule entries.

This note describes this change in full, and, as usual, you can contact support or your Technical Account Manager for further clarification.

When creating a Video on Demand Rule (often called a catch-up rule), the rule automatically creates and updates schedule entries in BeBanjo based upon your settings, and the data we receive from your linear schedule. Sometimes it can be useful to override this rule, but previously the only way to handle this has been to create multiple VOD rules and tailor each one to specific episodes.

Now in the Schedule page, entries can be modified individually, or in bulk, to modify their start or end dates:

Clicking on the check boxes allows you to modify the dates and fix them in time. If you override the dates the derived dates from the rule will no longer be applied —even if the linear schedule updates.

To make it clear on the schedule page, so you can take at a glance if a date has been overridden, we italicise any overridden date, to show that a change has been made:

We also display information within the VOD rule in the catalogue, so that you know which episodes have overridden dates:
