Image editing enhancements

Release date: January 2nd, 2018 (Revision 1), print this page

We have improved the image editing capabilities with rotation, flipping, and better cropping tools. This will allow users to do basic editing work without leaving Movida, instead of having to rely on external tools.

This note describes this change in full, and, as usual, you can contact support or your Technical Account Manager for further clarification.

First things first: did you know that you can add images to the catalog just by dragging and dropping them in from a folder in your computer? It was already possible, but we have improved both the UI and the internal mechanism to do uploads in bulk, have a look:

So, now that you’ve uploaded your images, it’s time to fix their names, encoding, the platforms they’re assigned to, etc. As you can see, we’ve upgraded that bit of the UI as well. Now, it’s easier and quicker to go through all the uploads and change every little bit, just use the gallery at the top to navigate:

And finally, it’s time to retouch some of them. Do you need to rotate it? OK. Flip it? Easy peasy. Do you need to crop it to the pixel? No problem. As you can see below, there are lots of possibilities. Just select one of the predefined aspect ratios or draw your own pixel-perfect selection:

We hope you find these changes useful. We have also taken this opportunity to rebuild most of the internals from scratch, so that we could make the UI faster, more responsive and easier to use. And that will allow us to extend this with more exciting features in the future as well.

Happy cropping/rotating/flipping! 📐✂️
