Adjustable day start time per linear channel

July 4th, 2017 (Revision 1), print this page

We have added the ability to adjust the day’s start time for a linear channel.

This note describes this change in full, and as usual, you can contact support or your Technical Account Manager for further clarification.

If you use the Catch-Up module in Mediagenix On-Demand, you will know that the Linear Schedule page shows the schedule of a linear channel in a given week in a grid format.

Previously, each day always started at midnight (i.e. 00:00) like a calendar day.

Often, however, the broadcast world considers the start time of a broadcast day to be different (e.g. 06:00).

We thought it might be useful to reflect this in Mediagenix On-Demand too, so we have added the ability to specify the time at which the day starts for each individual linear channel.

The “Linear schedule” page will now show the grid starting at the time configured for that channel. Any program starting earlier than the specified start time for that channel will appear as part of the previous broadcast day.

If you need any of your linear channels to be configured to have a day start time other than midnight, please get in touch with support or your Technical Account Manager, and we’ll set it up for you right away.
