Catch-up rules asset selection

September 21st, 2017 (Revision 1), print this page

We have added a new option to select the type of asset that should be associated to a Catch-Up schedule entry.

This note describes this change in full, and, as usual, you can contact support or your Technical Account Manager for further clarification.

Until now, schedule entries generated by catch-up rules had their asset automatically kept in sync with the related linear transmission asset; i.e.: the same asset used in the linear channel would be used in the non-linear schedule.

However in some cases it isn’t the linear asset that should be used in the non-linear schedules, and so instead of always keeping catch-up assets in sync with their linear counterparts, we now allow users to decide:

In addition to the default “keep in sync with linear TX”, we also present users with as many options as they have asset types defined. When a certain type is chosen, we ensure that the most recent asset of that type gets used in the catch-up schedule entries.

Of course, if there are no asset types defined, no other options are shown.

We have also added the specific asset type in the VOD rule screen:

If a VOD rule is set to use a specific type of asset and there is no asset of that type, the affected schedule entries have no scheduled asset.

And finally, whenever the asset type of a rule gets changed, or a new asset of one type is added to or removed from a Title or Series with rules using that asset type, we make sure that change is propagated to the affected schedule entries.
